Ex-Sheffield Wednesday boss favourite for Birmingham City job, Brentford eye England youth international

Sheffield Wednesday slumped to their seventh defeat on the bounce last weekend, as they gave away a first-half lead to lose 2-1 at home to table-topping Norwich City.

Speaking after the game, the Owls' new manager Darren Moore found plenty of positives in his side's performance, despite the result.

He claimed: "They’ve got to show that spirit and endeavour, they can’t come off of that now… I’ve seen another performance today when I’ve seen improvement, and it’ll be the smaller details that I pick out of the game in terms of moving forward and continuing to move forward."

“But you can’t go back on that level of performance, we have to keep building on it… Short term we really need a win, and lets look to try and get that win as early as possible.

“On the back of that I feel like we can build some momentum - the games are still there, we keep working and the points gap is what it is. We get the opportunity on Wednesday to try and close that gap.”

Next up, the Owls host Huddersfield Town on Wednesday evening, in what could prove a decisive fixture in the relegation run-in.

Here are today's biggest transfer stories and the latest team news involving Sheffield Wednesday and the rest of the Championship, as the build-up to the upcoming weekend's action begins:
