The draw has been made for the 1st round of the EFL Cup.

In the ties taking place on week commencing August 8, Sheffield Wednesday, who made it through to the quarter finals of the competition last season having seen off Newcastle and Arsenal, will travel to League Two side Cambridge United.

Sheffield United, semi finalists two seasons ago where they narrowly lost out to Tottenham over two legs, are at home to another League Two side, Crewe Alexandra.

Rotherham United have also been given a home draw, with Morecambe travelling to the New York Stadium while Barnsley welcome last season's League Two champions Northampton Town.

Doncaster Rovers have been given a plum draw with Nottingham Forest making the journey to the Keepmoat Stadium and Chesterfield are on the road, having been paired with Rochdale.
