Midfield duo Kieran Lee and Massimo Luongo are expected to be available for selection when the Owls visit Oakwell on Saturday.

Lee and Luongo missed Wednesday's turgid draw with Millwall due to shoulder and groin injuries respectively.

Neither Lee nor Luongo have played since the 5-0 Hillsborough drubbing at the hands of Blackburn Rovers last month. Luongo was wrongly sent off in the first half against Rovers after a challenge on Lewis Travis but the Owls appealed the controversial decision and the Football Association overturned the initial verdict.

As for Lee, Monk described it as a "50/50" decision whether to bring him back into the fold versus the Lions.

"He has been out training; I just felt that extra week will help him in terms of his soreness," Monk told The Star. "He should be fine for next week.

"Massimo is back out on the pitches. He trained hard on Saturday morning so is likely to be available for next week.

"It will be good to have those guys back in the squad."

Lee, out of contract at the end of the season, has clocked up 12 starts and six substitute appearances in all competitions during the 2019/20 campaign.

Luongo, meanwhile, has endured a stop-start year, appearing on 21 occasions since arriving from Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers in early August but the Australian international has made just nine league starts.
