The Star previously reported that 19-year-old midfielder had agreed personal terms with the Owls to make the switch to Sheffield, and he has now been confirmed as Garry Monk’s first permanent signing since joining the club last year.

After coming through the academy at City, FDB is now focused on making a name for himself in blue and white stripes, saying that he’s chasing first team football at S6.

Dele-Bashiru told the club’s official website, “I’m honoured to sign for Sheffield Wednesday and I’m excited to be here… I’m at an age now where I want to be playing first team football and I am confident it will fall into place for me here.

“I know there are other players in the same position but competition for places is a positive.

“My game is about power, strength and pace, I like to go box to box and I like taking on a shot too. The manager has shown a desire to bring me to the club and that means a lot. He has a good CV and I’m sure this is the right platform for me at this stage of my career.”

The Star understands that the talented teenager has signed a three-year deal at the club, and was very keen to making the switch as he seeks more senior game time in an attempt to progress further in his career.
