Departing Sheffield Wednesday man heavily linked with Queens Park Rangers after Owls’ fall into League One

Odubajo’s Owls contract will expire at the end of this month, with the defender having been named on the club’s released list as one of several senior players that would be making his way out of Hillsborough after the 2021/22 campaign.

The 27-year-old, who was snapped up as a free agent after leaving Brentford in 2019, played a total of 46 games in Wednesday colours during his time there, and had a bit of tough luck on the injury front that stopped him from achieving more.

Now, while Darren Moore and his Owls side plan for League One, talkSPORT are reporting that Odubajo could land himself another deal in the Championship, with his former manager, Mark Warburton, looking at potentially bringing him in for preseason with QPR ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.

Odubajo played 49 times under Warburton during their time at Brentford together, and would no doubt be keen to team up with him once again as he looks to try and get his career back on track once again.

Rangers have already signed Jordy de Wijs, Sam Field, Charlie Austin and Andre Dozzell this summer.

Joost van Aken (Zulte Waragem) and Jordan Rhodes (Huddersfield Town) are the only exiting players that have already secured moves elsewhere at this point, however Isaac Rice has been heavily linked with a move to Dunfermline Athletic in Scotland.
