Sheffield Wednesday’s clash with Birmingham City took on extra significance when Garry Monk started a war of words with former colleague Pep Clotet.

The Owls ended a run of conceding late goals in the 1-1 draw, and it is a tricky assignment next time out with Wednesday travelling to The Valley to face Charlton.

The Addicks enjoyed a great start to the season, yet have slipped down the table in recent weeks after a poor run of form.

Wednesday are on a so-so run of form of their own and are without a win in five games, and former Owl David Prutton believes that run may be extended in the capital.

In his weekly predictions column, he said: “Charlton may be starting to worry a little. They are on a really poor run of form and have slipped to 17th in the Championship.

“After Garry Monk's press conference fireworks in midweek he would have been very happy not to lose to Birmingham.

“They are dropping down the table too, though, and have not won in five. I cannot see them losing at Charlton, but I cannot see them winning either.”
