Writing for Sky Sports, Prutton took a look back at his predictions record for the season, which had it come true, would currently see Wednesday riding high in fourth place - seven points clear of sides outside of the play-off spots.

He claimed: "I probably didn't see Sheffield Wednesday's slump coming and being as drastic as it has, but it is Hull City that have caught me most by surprise in this table...but when it comes to my predictions I have obviously been operating in a parallel universe where none of that has happened!"

Wednesday head into this weekend's game desperately in need of a win, but their opponents aren't in the best of form themselves, having claimed victory just twice in their last ten matches, and failing to keep a clean sheet since January.

In his pre-match press conference, Owls boss Garry Monk told the Star he's been impressed with the Bees' club setup, and said: "They do it (planning) very well and the process there is four and five years down the line.

"They have invested very heavily and will be moving to a new ground. They’ve a very well thought through plan and have a young dynamic team.

"We've got games against all of the teams above us. If we can raise our game they'll be scalps."
