Sheffield Wednesday were relegated today.

They were one penalty equaliser away from staying in the Championship, but as they’ve done so many times this season, Wednesday twice let a lead slip and were sent packing down into the third tier of English football.

The rebuild begins, here are our ratings at the end of a dramatic afternoon at Pride Park.

Keiren Westwood – 5

Conceded three goals, could probably have done better with the first two of them. Could be his last game for Wednesday.

A game of mixed fortunes for Dunkley, who was good in patches and very vocal, but gave away the penalty that effectively sent Wednesday down.

Sam Hutchinson – 6

Got a massive goal in the first half, and was full of fight throughout. Decent showing, but still part of a defensive that conceded three.

Julian Börner – 6

Got an important goal, but was also guilty of a couple of lapses of concentration in a very scrappy game.

Liam Palmer – 6

Some decent work down the right, worked tirelessly in what was a scrappy game.

Barry Bannan – 6

Put a shift in and was consistently trying to make things happen. Sadly though, it just wasn’t enough.

Joey Pelupessy – 6

Can’t fault his endeavour and effort, and did his job fairly confidently in the centre of the park.

Callum Paterson – 7

Probably Wednesday’s best player on the day. Full of running, never gave up on anything and got a goal for his efforts.

Adam Reach – 5

A relatively ineffective one from the wingback in what could well be his final appearance in Wednesday colours.

Josh Windass – 5

Just didn’t look the same threat that he has done in recent weeks, wasn’t able to really trouble the Derby defence.

Jordan Rhodes – 6

Led the line relatively well in what is likely to be his last Wednesday showing. Was involved in a number of decent Owls attacks.

Elias Kachunga – N/A

A late sub for Rhodes.

Kadeem Harris – N/A

Came on late for Dunkley.

Andre Green – N/A

Last throw of the dice for Pelupessy.
