'Classy' - Sheffield Wednesday player ratings from Charlton Athletic draw

Sheffield Wednesday hosted Charlton Athletic in the Championship on Saturday

Sheffield Wednesday recorded their third successive draw as they fought back to earn a point against Charlton Athletic.

In the first-half, The Owls played some neat football without creating anything clear-cut. They appealed strongly for a penalty when Tayo Adaramola was tripped and he went over the in the box but referee Thomas Parsons judged the foul to have been made outside the area.

As for Charlton, they almost took advantage of a stray pass from Gabriel Otegbayo inside his own area but Pierce Charles came to his rescue, parrying from Greg Docherty. Just before half-time Matty Godden struck the crossbar with an acrobatic attempt.

It was Godden who put the visitors in front five minutes into second-half from close-range and Sonny Carey nearly doubled the lead on the hour when he hit the post.

But Wednesday equalised with 14 minutes of normal time remaining when Gabriel Otegbayo tucked a loose ball home after goalkeeper Will Mannion spilled.

Otegbayo came close to netting a winner late on but the wait for a first home league victory of the season goes on.
