Fletcher had been missing since the FA Cup win over Brighton in early January, while Fox has been out for three weeks, with both players missed as Wednesday went through a wretched run.

Their second half introductions provided Garry Monk with a boost but he warned against expecting both to be in the starting XI in the short term.

“Foxy and Fletch are not fully fit at all,” said Monk following the 3-3 draw. “The way we are with the couple of injuries we have had, where we are at and what we need to do, we have been forced into that situation.

“If we were in a better position in terms of the results we have had recently you would be able to give them a little bit longer. They are not fully fit but it's needs must.”

Asked if it’s likely they will be on the bench for Wednesday’s match against Charlton, Monk added: “For Fletch, yes. He's only been training for three days. Morgan trained (on Friday) that was it.

“They had the mentality to come on the pitch. It's great to have Fletch back. He was a big part, a massive part of the reason why we were third at Christmas and then to lose him...it's no excuse, we haven’t done well enough in the period we have had but today was much better all round performance.”
