Sheffield Wednesday could sign Basingstoke Town striker Sam Smart who is on trial with the Owls' under-23 side this week.
Smart scored one and assisted the winner in the youth team's 2-1 win over Hallam on Wednesday night.
Owls scouts are also said to have been watching Norwegian club Molde play in their Europa League tie with Northern Ireland's Glenavon.
Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten report that the Wednesday scouts, along with representatives from Arsenal, Brighton, Birmingham City and QPR were watching a number of Molde players including Erling Braut Haaland.
