Shaw has been a target for the Scottish Premiership side for some time now as they looked at bolstering their side to mount a challenge to Rangers next season, and Shaw is set to join them on July 1st when his Owls deal expires.
The 19-year-old, who came through the ranks at Hillsborough, has been a star performer for the Owls this season, and it’s thought that he remains fully committed the cause even though he’s made the tough choice to leave his boyhood club.

Hide AdThe Star reported earlier this evening that he’d agreed a long-term deal with Celtic, and the Daily Record has quoted their manager as saying, “We’ve completed a deal for Liam Shaw, he’s signed a pre-contract. So, that’s done and we’re looking ahead.”
There has, as yet, been no official word from Wednesday, with the club’s manager, Neil Thompson, admitting that he wasn’t aware of any developments at that stage.
When asked if Shaw would remain part of his plans despite his plans to leave, he said, “Whatever will be will be… We'll address it as we go along I'm sure.”
Wednesday have a whole host of players out of contract at the end of the season, and Shaw is not likely to be the only one who will be wearing a different coloured shirt next season as SWFC look to make some big decisions on who will remain at the club or not.
