Carlos Carvalhal says players, staff and supporters all pulling in the same direction has been key to Sheffield Wednesday’s strong recent form.
The strong team spirit at the club was on full show on Saturday as a late rally from the Owls saw them come from behind for a memorable win over Huddersfield Town at Hillsborough.
And head coach Carvalhal insists that spirit at the club is vital.
“It’s important that everyone pulls together in the same direction,” Carvalhal said.
“Nowadays, people don’t talk about that but to me it is crucial.
“Football is an emotional environment so you have to create a good atmosphere between the fans, players and coaches.
“You will never have a strong team if you don’t create a good atmosphere.”
Carvalhal confirmed fringe man Rhoys Wiggins was not in Saturday’s squad due to a minor injury.
He praised the full back and said they he a big part of his squad and the overall spirit at the club.
“Rhoys is a fantastic player and personality,” Carvalhal said. “He is a person that we trust a lot.
“We are happy with all of the team. “They like to be at Sheffield Wednesday and that is important as they come to training happy.
“They are enjoying the atmosphere we have created in the club.”
