Great chance Wednesday

A low delivery from Mendez-Laing is met by Jordan Storey, but he can’t quite get enough on it. The rebound falls to Paterson a bit too fast for him to react and ends up hitting him and falling into the keeper’s grateful arms.

All gone quiet over there

Wednesday’s goal has taken the sting out of Burton, who had been applying pressure on the Owls’ box and targeting Peacock-Farrell with plenty of deliveries towards the six-yard area.

HT nearly here. Could be a job very well done for the visitors, if things stay like this.

Wednesday fans caught in the home end

Looks like three Owls fans have been caught in the home end. They’ve been escorted out.

A Wednesday corner is played short to Mendez-Laing, who drives into the box and fires the ball low towards goal. Ben Garratt beats away the shot and it falls to Byers, who fires it in low. Slightly against the run of play, but who cares?

Half chance for the Owls

Their first sniff at goal for a while sees Hunt and Byers exchange a nice one-two on the halfway line which releases the former. He drives forward but his pass is just in front of the sliding Paterson. Better.

We’re very close to DM and Jamie Smith and the pair of them haven’t stopped barking since kick-off.

The big man lets out a ‘Hey, come on!’ with a roar to try and rally the troops.

It’s very attritional out there and Burton are applying plenty of aerial pressure on the Owls’ box.

Byers takes a whack

He clashes heads with his opposite number. Not really his sort of game, this. But he’s back on his feet nonetheless, with not a single strand of his hair out of place.
