Speaking to the assembled press, via the club's official YouTube channel, the Danish coach was asked about the last time the two sides met - a 2-1 win for the Owls at Hillsborough.

He said: "I remember the game, we played quite well actually. We were quite comfortable, 1-0 up, and then they scored a goal - one of their big strengths is crosses into the box."

"And from there we tried to come back, but we couldn't, and they got a soft pen(alty) - which was a penalty...it was a handball, but it wasn't like we took one of their players down."

Going on to highlight the areas of Wednesday's game he was looking to combat, Frank conteded: "Wednesday are a team that, on their day, are extremely good going forward.

"They have a lot of variety in their play, they use a lot of crosses, and they always attack with two strikers and get the opposite winger in, so they'll get a lot of players in the box.

"We need to defend the box well and stop the crosses well; that's the two main things."

The 46-year-old went on to echo the praise handed out to Barry Bannan by Pep Guardiola, following Wednesday's narrow 1-0 FA Cup loss to Manchester City.

He contended: "I think they have one of the best midfielders in this division in Bannan, I think he's a top player, and when he's on it, he dictates the game and creates chances."

Frank also touched on the Owls' aforementioned match against the Premier League champions.

He revealed: "I watched it, but to be fair I think City are a tiny bit better than us, so I don't think we can use it to compare too much. We used all the games (prior to City) to prepare for this game.

Meanwhile, Wednesday boss Garry Monk hit out at the negative side of social media in his press conference, and contended that footballers should seek approval from fellow professionals, rather than people they don't know.
