Managerless Sheffield Wednesday were held to a 1-1 draw by Cambridge United at Hillsborough on Tuesday night.
The visitors had the better chances in the first 45 but The Owls improved at the midway point but couldn’t make the breakthrough.
But they did five minutes after the break when a quick free-kick from Callum Slattery sent Mason Burstow through on goal and he smashed in via the post.
Burstow was denied a second from six-yards out by a stunning save from Jake Eastwood and Cambridge made them pay when Sullay Kaikai drilled in to finish off a counter-attack.
Barry Bannan hit the post with a curling strike as Wednesday tried to get back in front but they had goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer to thank for earning them a point with some smart saves in each half, including two late on in a mad scramble.
The draw keeps Wednesday outside the play-offs after 12 games as the search for a new manager goes on following the sacking of Henrik Pedersen at the weekend.
Here are our player ratings from the game...

5. Reece James 7
Recalled to the side as one of five change from Saturday. Got forward often and provided several inviting crosses. A decent outlet for Wednesday. | ugc

6. Barry Bannan 6
Did okay in the ugly stuff but struggled to dictate on the ball. Hit the post with a curling effort as the hosts pushed to get back in front. Legs rested with 10 to go. | ugc

7. Billy Mitchell 6
Grafted but the partnership with Bannan still needs work. Got beaten too easily for Cambridge's equaliser. | ugc

8. Harry Gray 6
Back in the side and played on the right. Went close on the half-hour mark but his stretched finish went just over. Got into another couple of promising attacking positions but couldn't make the most of them. | ugc
