Minus-four we go!

I didn’t have to do a lot of convincing. The 12 points could put players off, it’s not the most attractive situation, but with all of the players, it’s not been an issue. That’s telling.

All the players we’ve brought in have had options. Better offers financially, better situations, it says a lot about them.

It’s not just the calibre, it’s the character they bring in.

He’s got a muscle spasm in his back. They don’t make them as tough as they used, do they? *laughs* But he’ll be back.

No fresh ones today, but I doubt we’ll have any back this week. That’s why it was so important to get Aden and Jack in - it’s not the biggest squad in the world, we were thin on the ground, but them coming in helps.

We should pretty much have everyone back after the next international break.

Dom is ahead of the others. These guys aren’t long-term, but it’s all between two weeks and four weeks. Tom and Shawy won’t be this week.

He was very good. He can do a few roles but that one there particularly, he excels in it, with that calmness. I’m very pleased with him.

It makes it even better because coming into the international break, all those injuries. Aden didn’t even train with the team. We had all these difficulties.

We worked tactically on this and delivered it to a very high level. It typified what the group are. This is where the squad is at and the more time we get the better it’ll get.

You saw what Aden brought today. It’s about character and his experience. He’s come here determined. Unless you’ve had money to spend you’re going to get players in situations. We’ve found players with the right profile, the right mentality.

We’ve got a really healthy squad and a squad we can work with. We’ve started that transition very well.

Aden has been on the radar for a long time. We lost four centre-halves in the last game so it accelerated that. Aden wanted to come here, he didn’t think twice about it, along with Jack as well. It strengthened our attacking options.

If we can get those injuries back, it’s going to be a good thing for us.

It’s been high anyway. We’re the team with the biggest challenge this season - we know what we have to do.

We can’t wait until Christmas or January and see what we’re doing. We’re fighting for our lives and will keep doing what we’re doing.

We’ve been in all these games. The results are all part of football. We dominated fr 85 minutes, you don’t get that rub of the green and you have to show that side as well.

Sometimes it goes for you, sometimes it doesn’t. But the fight and the spirit they’ve got. It will only grow now with the transfer window we’ve had. We’ve been very smart and very pleased.

The club and chairman deserve a lot of credit for that.

Ha, yeah. If we hadn’t won the game we might be going deeper into that one.

I don’t understand how that wasn’t a penalty, but it doesn’t matter now, does it?

It typified that moment. It was the one heart in the mouth moment.

I know Birmingham well, it’s not an easy place to come so to come here is very pleasing.

You always wonder in the back of your mind, even against QPR it wasn’t down to commitment or fight, it was ten men on the pitch. We used all that, spirit, fight, commitment and quality.

It’s a shame we didn’t make it more comfortable.
