The list confirms that no fewer than 10 senior players will be leaving the club on a free transfer in the coming weeks as Darren Moore sets about rebuilding a squad former managers have described as ‘too comfortable’ and that ‘lacks leadership’.

Fan reactions on social media are a broad church, but a general flavour shows a great deal respect in particular for long-serving pair Keiren Westwood and Tom Lees.

The overwhelming feeling, though, is of a much-needed clear-out ahead of what is a brand new challenge in League One.

Let’s take a look at a smattering of the reaction on Twitter..

@KiboSWFC: Good luck to Westy and Lees, been brilliant for us over the years and gave us many great memories, best of luck wherever you end up

@chrisma5on: No surprises, lost £6-7m in revenue in league 1 but I bet we’ve near enough saved that in the wages of them lads #swfc

@YahYah_Gunn: Exactly what was needed. I’m still mad we signed Kachunga in the first place.

@yeezy_jmz: Westwood and Lees were great servants to the club. Both would have done a job in league one but totally understand the release. Darren Moore now needs to be backed to build a squad that can challenge for promotion

@_CharlieThePooh: A few of these make me a bit sad. A few make me very happy. And a few I’m like ‘Who? Oh yeah. Them. Ah well.’

@hoppo_swfc: Big Daz doing it right, big calls. Huge summer ahead now, need 10 new signings in.

@Feral_bear: Sad to see Lees, Westwood as far as great service but time to move on. Pelupessy couldn't fault his attitude but not good enough. The rest were happy to plod along being carried.

@lefthandedowl: Best news coming out of S6 for ages, correct decisions throughout. Now let’s get some new blood in with pace and without fear and let’s get the ball rolling again

@onetruesharkey: Right decisions in my opinion. In Penney's case it may be the kick up the backside he needs to get back on track

@AnOwl67: Pleased with that. Just hope Osaze signs a new deal. Good luck to Westwood and Lees both good servants to the club. #swfc

@Dango1867: Wonder how much that lot is off the wage bill.

@Danworth2509: Tbh I’m not surprised and I’m quite pleased about. Got rid of all the big earners and the ageing players. Fresh start under DM and get some young players in who ideally see us a stepping stone and want to progress their careers instead of players who feel they’ve already made it

@SwfcFan12: Absolutely spot on. Well done to Darren Moore it's what was needed. Of course you have to thank Westwood & Lees for their time at the club & what they have contributed. As for Reach had a great 1st season or 2 then just faded. Lived of wonder goals since. As for the rest bye bye.
