It was a weird game of football, with Wednesday probably edging the tie for over an hour, but after Matthew Pearson opened the scoring it all went to pieces. Over the space of 12 minutes Danny Röhl's side were knocked to the canvas, and it's a result that has hit their survival hopes hard.
Two goals from Josh Koroma either side of Sorba Thomas' strike put paid to Wednesday getting anything out of this one - and they now find themselves eight points adrift of their Yorkshire rivals.
Here's how we rated the Owls on a horrific afternoon at the John Smith's Stadium:

5. Kristian Pedersen
Talk about a baptism of fire. Straight into the XI and it was a pretty frantic start for the new left back. Was booked early on, and got caught out a few times - can be forgiven on his debut. | UGC / Jordan Gawthorpe

6. Liam Palmer - 4
He's a central midfielder now, apparently. It's no longer just a one-off for Palmer as he gets into the defensive midfield role ahead of others who played their for years. Did well enough in the first half, but Wednesday were just overrun as the game went on. | UGC / Steve Ellis

7. Barry Bannan - 5
Another busy afternoon for the Owls skipper, who was involved with so much that went on for the visitors. But - like everybody else in a yellow shirt - was unable to half the second half collapse. No player on the pitch made more key passes. | UGC / Steve Ellis

8. Djeidi Gassama - 4
Gassama was a real outlet for Wednesday as he constantly tried to make things happen down the left, but with varying success. Worked hard and fashioned plenty, but also got caught out on decision making at times. | UGC / Steve Ellis
