The Owls are enduring a rough 2020 so far, with their form plummeting since the turn of the year and Garry Monk’s side currently on a three-game losing streak that has got fans worrying for the future – especially given the potential points deduction that could be on the way.
Wednesday currently have 52 points, which would usually keep you up in the Championship, but they need as many points as possible from the remaining 12 available given the fact that there is still no end in sight with their case against the English Football League.

Speaking to The Star, the Wednesday boss said, “I think they have. I do think they have, they’ve shown it, but maybe not consistently enough.
“We’ve had plenty of moments in games when we should’ve been winning, should’ve been out of sight in some of them, and it hasn’t happened. And that can be tough to take.
“A great example of that is the disallowed goal, where you feel you’re about to be back in a winning position and it gets taken away from you. In that deflation, that’s where the grit, determination and ‘dog fight’ has to be there.”

“You need that ‘dog fight’ mentality to be able to do that consistently, and that needs to come from character. Hopefully from the transition, maybe add a character to help the other lads through that and put it in and around them.
“Right now though, we need to show that in these four games. Definitely.”
And that starts at QPR tomorrow afternoon, with SWFC aiming to make sure they don’t lose four on the bounce for the first time in nearly two years.
