The cancellation of the season was perhaps a good thing for Wallace’s St Mirren, who were a big part of the relegation conversation sat two points from safety.

The once-capped Scotland international played in three seasons for the Owls following his release from Burnley in 2015 and was a key figure in the Carlos Carvalhal era that saw them compete in back-to-back play-off campaigns.
He played in 124 competitive matches for Wednesday, scoring 13 times.
