'An animated manager, barking orders and looking like he cares' - Sheffield Wednesday fans' react to Tony Pulis' side's battling draw with Swansea City

Adam Reach had put the visitors in front in the 27th minute with a sublime finish following a well-worked corner by Barry Bannan.

But Pulis’ side was forced to settle for a share of the spoils after they were pegged back by Andre Ayew’s curling effort on the hour mark.

The draw leaves the Owls, who lost goalkeeper Keiren Westwood after he injured his groin early in the game, remain in 23rd place in the Sky Bet Championship and move a point ahead of bottom club Derby County – but are five points adrift of safety.

Writing on Twitter after the game, our man at the game Alex Miller wrote: “Sheffield Wednesday earn their first point under Tony Pulis – a very fine point indeed – with a battling performance in a 1-1 draw at Swansea.”

But what did Wednesdayites on the social media platform make of tonight’s display?

Let’s take a look.

@RickyKeogh Lose that game under Monk. Loads better organised, still got nowt up top but that's not TP's fault #swfc

@swfc_adam Good point away from home against a team who’ll probably finish in the top six #SWFC

@RocketOwl1986 If you go with the set-up we did today for the majority of away games then it is clear what positions we are lacking in. Left back and striker. Maybe Pulis can get a couple of feee agents in #swfc

@DavidDh58 We did not lose. We did not finish with ten men. Only one injury casualty and away from home from our starting point gained a draw. One small step for Pulis but one welcome point for Wednesday.

@JayFrost1978 Although a much better performance and a point I'd have snatched your hand of for before the game, my point and worry still stands where are the wins we NEED coming from? We are back to five points adrift need goals #swfc

@ToddSiddons Really pleased with that point, so many positives in first half, but we are desperate for goalscorers if we’re gonna get out of this #swfc

@LeeJFisher1 Back to some sloppy play in the second half but much more encouraging signs in the first 45 minutes. Think when some of the injured/suspended players return we may just have enough about us to stay up. Decent away point. #swfc #wawaw

@uddin_mo Hard fought, deserved point tonight. A few heart in mouth moments in second half. We were lucky to have the last minute goal disallowed. #swfc

@johnrocknrolla Suppose a point is fair. We need all our injured players back and a load of new signings in January. #swfc

@walkerswfc Solid point that, looked a lot more organised . . . crying out for a decent striker though #swfc

@hwilce Yep, I will take that. A decent point and we looked to have made some progress. Onwards and upwards! #swfc #WAWAW

@SteSpen5 Two games in and I’m ok with Pulis so far. Tonight was a marked improvement on Saturday. We’d have folded under Monk. We’ve scored a goal and looked good first half. This ISN’T his squad. An animated manager, barking orders and looking like he cares.
