Alfreton Town 0 Sheffield Wednesday 1 LIVE - Owls pick up late win after Andre Green goal
Darren Moore’s side will take on the Reds at the Impact Arena at 7.30pm this evening, and fans are expected to get a first look at new signing, Olamide Shodipo, as well as fellow recent addition, Dennis Adeniran.
Adeniran played his part in the 2-0 win over Chester over the weekend, but the away fans in attendance will get to see Shodipo for the first time following his loan move from Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.

Alfreton Town v Sheffield Wednesday LIVE: Olamide Shodipo set for his first Owls runout
Key Events
- Wednesday face Alfreton at 7.30pm
- Moore is likely to keep experimenting with his side
- New signing, Shodipo, is straight into the XI
Shodipo is inches away from getting a goal in his first Wednesday appearance... Borner found Bannan, who cut it back for the new Owls winger. He cut inside and tried to bend it into the bottom right corner - he wasn’t far off.
Flashed across goal
Dawodu does well down the right, and is clattered for his troubles, but his ball finds Windass who fizzed one across goal. Just needed somebody on the end of it. Wednesday finding their feet a bit.
Positionally...
So it actually looks like it’s Hagan leading the line and Windass out wide, rather than the other way around. Shodipo on the left and Windass on the right.
Speaking of Hagan, he just look a ball in the face. Quick shake of the head though, and he’s fine.
An early scare!
It bobbles around in the box, and could’ve gone anywhere, but luckily it’s cleared by Dawodu in the end. That Alfreton freekick caused some problems!
Some thoughts...
Interesting XI from Moore for this one, and he’s clearly trying out a few more combinations... Looks like a bit of a 3-4-3 to me, with Shodipo and Hagan either side of Windass, who looks to have been asked to lead the line this evening.
Unlike the last two games, where he’s pretty much put out his best XI, the Owls boss seems to be giving the youngsters an opportunity to try and form some partnerships with their older counterparts. Bannan/Hunt is potentially quite an exciting one in the middle, and I’m also looking forward to seeing how Windass links up with new signing, Shodipo.
There’s plenty of fans here tonight in the Impact Arena - and I’ll be honest, it’s bloody lovely.
