The 20-year-old made his fourth senior appearance of the season for Wednesday earlier in the week with a cameo showing against West Bromwich Albion, making it two Championship and two FA Cup outings for the talented midfield man.
Now, as Garry Monk looks to keep his squad fresh in what is going to be a tough run-in of games for the Owls, the SWFC manager has waxed lyrical about the way that the Wednesday academy graduate has come on since stepping up into the senior ranks.

Hide AdSpeaking to The Star today, Monk said, “I think Alex is further down the line than the others in terms of his development. To see him from where he was when I first came in, to where he is right now, in terms of how he’s grown, not just football-wise but as a person.
“His personality is really clear now amongst senior pros, and he’s held his own and grown from that. He’s a big part of the future, he’s getting minutes, and of course if I can start him then I’ll start him, but we’re here to win games as well.
“I always try and pick the team that’s best to win that game, but in terms of Alex, I think you all know what I think of him and what the future is with him.
“I think it’s exciting. It’s exciting to have a player like that here and be working with him. He’ll have his time for sure, and he’ll be a big part of moving forward.”
