Great performances all over the field – tigers they were. Josh WIndass’ double, Cammy Dawson’s reaction saves, the defence.. George Byers’ turn.
Here’s our ratings for Wednesday after their latest – unforgettable – encounter..
5. Liam Palmer - 8
Did excellently to burst through the press and create himself an excellent early chance which in truth he should have done better with - but dragged wide. Had his hands full with down that channel and did well - what a night for him to skipper, too. Photo: UGC/Steve Ellis
6. George Byers - 9
Set a tone for himself early doors, bustling into tackles and getting around midfield. Looked made for the battle in midfield and his turn for Windass' goal? Worthy of any Premier League side. A moment of genius. Defending? Attacking? He's got a bit of everything. That lad was a freebie - and I'd like to report a robbery. Photo: UGC/Steve Ellis
7. Fisayo Dele-Bashiru
Flitted in and out a touch and was strangely weak in one or two challenges. Yellow carded for a late flick on Longstaff deep into the first half. Hooked at half-time in favour of Adeniran. Photo: Fisayo Dele-Bashiru - 6
8. Will Vaulks - 9
Bang up for it. Made some belting tackles and sprayed the ball about with more confidence than he has in previous outings. His cross on 37 minutes was perfect and caused problems. Gritty, full of energy, full of battle, gnarly. The sort of bloke that wins a bare knuckle fight and takes you for a drink afterwards. Photo: UGC/Steve Ellis
