“A bit chippy” - What happened in post-match bust-up between Gary Rowett, Josh Windass and Callum Paterson after Sheffield Wednesday’s draw with Millwall
The Owls and Millwall fought out a 0-0 draw in S6 as Wednesday picked up their 10th point of the week following a 1-0 win over Bournemouth and successful appeal against their 12-point deduction – but it was by no means a bore draw.
Wednesday had plenty of chances to win the game but were denied by some good defending and excellent Bartosz Białkowski goalkeeping, and there was some drama after the final whistle in a bit of a heated exchange involving the Lions’ boss and Owls’ duo of Josh Windass and Callum Paterson.

Hide AdIt appeared going into the final minutes that Rowett was upset that Wednesday’s Izzy Brown wasn’t sent off for a late tackle, and speaking to the media afterwards, the Millwall boss commented on the situation, saying, “Windass was being a bit chippy, which I felt showed a lack of respect towards a manager.”
Meanwhile, Wednesday’s Dominic Iorfa admitted that he wasn’t sure what happened, telling the media, “I’ve no idea… It was between their manager and a few of our players, but I don’t know what was said. I wish I could tell you, I was down the other end of the pitch and I just saw people splitting up Paterson, Windass and their manager. But I don’t know what happened.”
Wednesday boss, Garry Monk, almost admitted that he wasn’t sure what happened in the incident.
