The decision means home and away fans will be able to enter and leave the stadium via the stand.

As a result, the club say more North Stand tickets will be on sale for Saturday’s Championship fixture against Millwall and future games.

The Council had previously banned fans exiting from two main gates at Leppings Lane before a Sheffield Magistrates’ court judge ruled it was “not valid”.

The ban was imposed due to safety concerns after crowd trouble at the Owls’s home game against Sheffield United in March 2019.

But the club argued it was poorly drafted and unclear about the exact areas of concern, with insufficient evidence of risk.

A statement said: “Throughout this matter the only concern has been the safety of supporters and the public, and this remains the priority going forward.”
