Chris Wilder’s side recorded their first win post-lockdown courtesy of goals from record signing Sander Berge, his first goal for the club since his January move, second half substitute Lys Mousset and Oli McBurnie.

Spurs pulled one back late on through England striker Harry Kane, who thought he had netted his side an equaliser in the first half only for it to be disallowed after VAR ruled that Lucas Moura had accidentally handled the ball in the build-up to the goal.

The victory for United lifts them up to seventh place in the Premier League and keeps alive their Europa League hopes with just six games left of an impressive first term back in the top flight after a 12-year absence.

Unsurprisingly, the victory has lifted the spirits of Blades fans who have taken to Twitter to hail their side’s performance.

Here’s what they had to say.

@Justy1Rice Well that was beautiful. What a performance. Everybody brilliant again. Big shout outs for Sander Berge, @OsbornOn1 and MoM (again) @oli_mcburnie. Awesome lad. #sufc #twitterblades #SHUTOT

@Berkshireblade Berge has a quality few of our players have. And has proved it the last two games. Well done. #sufc #twitterblades

@TuftyBall It's hard to pick from the goals, because they were all great, but Berge's opener just clinches it for me. The play switched across the box, allowing Baldock's precision pass for Robinson then Berge's touch and shot for the goal. Classy, classy, classy. #SUFC #TwitterBlades

@lynsey15taylor Fully deserved the three points. Thought McBurnie, Osborne n’ Egan were fab. Glad Berge got his first goal. VAR decision was karma for Lundstram n’ it was good to see it go in our favour this time. Just wish I was there in my seat on Kop.

@ArtyBianco McBurnie outstanding, Sander getting better and better back five more like it but for me Osborn’s energy and work rate was immense

@MattVirge87 What a performance that was Blades. Osborn, Berge and McBurnie were brilliant tonight. Proper team performance from lot of em!! And ya don’t mess with that

@oli_mcburnie!
