Yesterday, news broke that Nottingham Forest and Olympiakos owner Evangelos Marinakis had contracted Coronavirus; it has since been announced that Arsenal's match against Manchester City - which was set to take place this evening - has been postponed.

This decision was made due to the owner meeting several Arsenal players two weeks ago, while representing Olympiakos during their Europa League tie against the Gunners.

As things stand, there are no further Premier League postponements planned for this weekend, meaning that the Blades' clash against Newcastle United should go ahead, while their FA Cup meeting with the Gunners is also currently still to take place.

Almost 120,000 cases of the virus have been reported across the globe, with 383 in the UK, six of which have been fatal.

Uncertainty over how, or even if, the Premier League season will be concluded still remain, with the upcoming Euro 2020 tournament adding further complications to the issue.

Addressing the dilemma, Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker tweeted: "Manchester City v Arsenal is postponed. Off to Liverpool but can’t help feeling like it’s the beginning of the end of the football season. Despite the words of the late Bill Shankly, football is not more serious than life and death."
