Although clubs were given the green light to resume training last month, some high-profile Premier League players opted against returning to work over health concerns.

But Osborn - who, like all his fellow players and PL staff, is being tested for Covid-19 twice a week - said: "Since the first day back when we saw how well everything was set up, and then the testing, everyone is happy to be back.

"The club doctor said that the training ground is probably the safest place to be, apart from home.

"You go to the supermarket or whatever and that's more risky than a locked-down environment, with handwash at every station and people who have been tested twice-weekly, as well as temperature checks being done at the door and stuff like that."
