Why Chris Wilder believes Sheffield United's last 12 games could be vital for on-loan Manchester United man Dean Henderson

Henderson has set his sights on starting for Gareth Southgate’s men at the European Championships, ahead of Jordan Pickford of Everton and Burnley’s Nick Pope.

The on-loan Manchester United man made another eye-catching save to help United beat AFC Bournemouth in their last game before the winter break.

And Wilder, when asked if Henderson should be No.1, said: “We all have opinions, but the most important is Gareth’s.

“Deano is pushing as hard as he can push. He’s een instrumental in our form with big saves and clean sheets, and his concentration levels are huge. And that’s been key.

“We dominated against Bournemouth and then he made a huge save for us, against the run of play.

“It’s a big 12 games for us as a club and individually, they’re huge if Dean has any aspirations of playing for England this summer.

“Which, as you can imagine, he has!”
