What 'prolific' John Egan said about his goalscoring touch for Sheffield United after winner against Wolves

John Egan admits his long run without a goal was playing on his mind after his second in as many matches sealed an important 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Bramall Lane.

Fresh from his equaliser at Burnley on Sunday, the Republic of Ireland international headed home an injury-time winner, moving Chris Wilder's men to within a point of Wolves in the Premier League table.

Egan's last goal for United came in August 2018 and he said: "I'm prolific now!

"The gaffer has been asking me for 10, so I've only got eight more to go in four games to get there!

"It always gives you a bit of belief when you score. I hadn't scored for a long time and it had been playing on my mind a little bit.

"The gaffer has been hammering me about it, and hopefully I can keep adding that to my game and maybe get a few more."
