What Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp expects from Sheffield United on Sunday

Jurgen Klopp, the Liverpool manager, has warned his side to face a Sheffield United side with plenty of “fight” and improved confidence when they travel to Bramall Lane on Sunday evening.

United face the reigning champions bottom of the table and 14 points from safety, although Liverpool are hardly in sparkling form themselves.

And ahead of the trip over the Pennines, Klopp said: “We don’t feel pressure at Anfield, even when we lost now a couple of games at Anfield; it’s not that we go there and are shaking or whatever.

“That’s not the case.

What Sheffield United's Chris Wilder said about his relationship with Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp after 'five-subs' war of words

“And an away game is the same and Sheffield United is a strong side with a difficult, difficult start in the season.

“Meanwhile, the last 10 games I think, the results were much different. You can see that, they are much more confident, all these kind of things.

“They will fight with all they have, we will fight with all we have.

Klopp does not yet know whether goalkeeper Alisson Becker will play in Sunday's after the death of his father in a swimming accident in Brazil earlier this week, while Jordan Henderson will definitely miss out after going under the knife to correct a groin problem.

Henderson’s absence reduces further Klopp's options at centre-back as his captain had been covering that position in the absence of Virgil Van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Fabinho - himself a stand-in.
