What Frank Lampard said about Chelsea's 4-1 win over Sheffield United

Frank Lampard says Chelsea put in their best performance of the season so far as they beat Sheffield United 4-1 at Stamford Bridge.

The Blades went ahead through David McGoldrick, but the Blues hit back through Tammy Abraham, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Timo Werner to go third in the league.

United found €40 million man Hakim Ziyech too hot to handle, while £50m man Werner continued his good run of scoring form since a summer move to the Premier League from Red Bull Leipzig.

And the former England international Lampard admitted: "That was our best performance of the season so far for sure.

"We're in a good place, but the level of Liverpool and Manchester City means you have to be in that good place every week.

"That's the gap we have to close so I won't get carried away with that."

The Blades return to Premier League action against West Ham, after the international break.
