'What does Moose have to do, seriously?' - Sheffield United fans' verdict on team to face Wolves

The 26-year-old O’Connell comes in for Jack Robinson on the left side of defence while Sharp replaces David McGoldrick who is missing with a foot injury.

Elsewhere, John Lundstram returns to the matchday squad and is named among the substitutes after recovering from an arm injury which forced him off during the FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Arsenal last month.

Victory for the Blades would see them move to within a point of tonight’s opponents, who lost 2-0 to Arsenal at Molineux in their last outing on Saturday.

Wilder’s side, which currently sits in ninth place, go into the clash on the back of a battling 1-1 draw at Burnley on Sunday and an impressive 3-1 defeat of Tottenham Hotspur last Thursday.

Here’s how United fans on Twitter have reacted to this evening’s team news.

@lucafrigerio11 Good to see Lunny on the bench. Let’s hope Didzy isn’t out for long.

@jonkay19 Didzy, a big loss

@TuftyBall How good is it to see that back three together again? JOC-Egan-Bashambauer. The Clean Sheet Triumvirate. #SUFC #TwitterBlades

@The_Bladesman Well my hopes of winning this have gone down after seeing McGoldrick out. Great to see JOC back in the starting XI and Lunny back in the squad. Going to be a big ask for a struggling Enda and a returning JOC to keep Adama quiet. Come on United!

@Justy1Rice Best team that apart from Fleck so let’s go and do this. Come on Blades. #sufc #twitterblades

@GriffSufc Why is it Sharp and McBurnie, they don’t work well together

@Nathan_sufc21 Reyt team! So glad JOC is back in team

@Sufc_Jam3s Going to be a big game for Stevens and O’Connell against Adama

@LRoyles2 What does Moose have to do seriously? Always causes problems and top goalscorer by my reckoning? Can be injury prone but at least he can run!

@Lee29253244 Hate to see Didzy out, nobody runs around like him
