It’s another one of those nights where you can sense just how electric the atmosphere would be under the lights at Bramall Lane right now had things been very different.

The visit of Manchester United is always a big deal, no matter how good or bad their form is and toinight would have been no exception.

However, the Blades will again have to live without their loyal, vociferous backing again on a night that they really could do with it.

Last season in this fixture, Sheffield United drew 3-3 with their Manchester counterparts with Oli McBurnie scoring an equalier after the Red Devils had overturned a two goal lead for the home side.

However, the big forward was unable to make the starting line-up this time around after picking up a shouder injury in the defeat to Southampton last week.

David McGoldrick and Oliver Burke start up front and there were three changes altogether – Billy Sharp also dropped out of the frontline – with Jack Robinson coming on for Phil Jagielka in defence.

Some fans were unimpressed.

@DaniBryan89 said: “Euuuuurgh, not meaning to moan before we have even kicked off, but **** that starting line up is depressing.”

@The_Bladesman added: “No Lundstram in the 18, probably the midfielder/forward I most wanted to start today. Presume it's injury related, think it's a big mistake if not.”

@S10Blade posted: “Let's hope Burke and Didzy have their shooting boots on. Or somebody else's boots on.”

@vapingblades was damning but hopeful: “No goal threats from that midfield or strikers for that matter hope I’m wrong but alfreton town wouldn’t be afraid of that team. Let’s hope they all prove me wrong.”

@Theosufc kept it simple: “Weird front two.”

@Algarvegit said: “Pace of Rashford, Martial & Greenwood v Egan, Enda and Robinson is a big worry. TF Cavani isnt featuring. Burke will be lonely tonight as Didzy attempts to compensate for lack of creativity from Fleck & Ampadu. Fear a spanking could be on the cards.”

Not everyone was so pessimistic.

@UTBladeStephen said: “Right I'm liking that line up. Positive vibes.”

And @Samr36: “Like that a lot. Robinson to have a stormer and have rashford in his back pocket all game...no seriously, midfield and strikers best combo, defence woefully slow against their attack.”
