And, after concluding his post-match media duties, the 17-year-old received a brilliant reception when he finally returned to the portacabin that doubled as United’s changing room at Goodison Park.
After soaking up the congratulations from his teammates, including John Lundstram in nothing but a pair of Y-fronts, a visibly sheepish Jebbison was serenaded as United revelled in the feeling of a rare victory.

Hide AdGoalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who pulled off a string of fine saves to help ensure the three points went the way of United, joked that he should have won the man of the match award, but no-one at United could begrudge Jebbison his much-deserved moment in the spotlight.
Still only 17 years of age, Jebbison earned a start after coming off the bench against Crystal Palace last weekend and grasped his opportunity with both hands, tapping home with a poacher’s finish after a good run and cross from defender Jack Robinson.
“I’m just thankful for the opportunity given to me by the club,” Jebbison said.
“I gave it my all and I’m thankful for the opportunity given to me.

Hide Ad“It’s crazy. I can’t describe the feeling but it’s amazing. I knew I was playing yesterday and I couldn’t stop smiling, I couldn’t sleep and I just tried to make the most of it.
“It was good to get the three points, we’ve been struggling a bit but the boys are buzzing with the win.”
