WATCH - Roy Keane has his say on John Lundstram red card against Brighton & Hove Albion - Sheffield United fans fuming

The Blades had just begun to get a foothold on the game after making a substitution which saw John Fleck hooked for Oliver Burke, when Lundstram went in hard on Joel Veltman on 34 minutes.
Referee Peter Bankes initially gave a yellow card but was advised to have another look.

United fans for the most part didn’t agree.
@ViewFromJohnSt posted on twitter: “Lundstram plays the ball and gets sent off...a yellow would have been harsh. Replays clearly show it. Game’s gone mad.”
@WillyRoberts added: “Don’t get the red. Obviously going for the ball. Got a decent amount of the ball. Other foot was on the ground. Not high. Yes he made contact but how is it a red?”

Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane, working as a pundit on Sky Sports said the right decision had been made.
"No excuses,” said Keane. “[Lundstram] took a bad touch, that's where the trouble starts. He's not in control. It's the referee's job to defend the players.”
