Berge, a club-record buy from Genk towards the end of the transfer window, made his first appearance in United colours in midfield as the Blades beat Palace 1-0, to move fifth in the Premier League.

Berge was replaced by John Lundstram in the second half, but was pushed to the forefront of the United players as they clapped their fans at full time and was serenaded by supporters with a rendition of his song, to the tune of Oasis’ ‘She’s Electric’.

Berge appeared to take a moment to let the scenes sink in, and was still smiling when he emerged to face the media some time later.
