Sheffield United boss Nigel Adkins hailed the performances of three of his newer additions to the starting line-up as the Blades beat Doncaster Rovers 1-0 at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Che Adams scored the only goal of the game and he, as well as Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Louis Reed earned praise from the manager for their displays in a tough game.

"It was a super goal from Che Adams, an unbelievably brilliant pass from Jose Baxter...Che was a threat throughout the course of the game.

"I must say Reedy (Louis Reed) came in in the middle of the park and I thought he had a fantastic game beside Dean Hammond and Dominic Calvert-Lewin making his first start, I thought he did ever so well."
