Marcus Williams is calling on Sheffield United to tighten up defensively ahead of tomorrow’s clash with in-form Colchester United.

David Weir’s side welcome the U’s to Bramall Lane looking to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat at Brentford last weekend.

After conceding four goals in their opening two League One fixtures, left-back Williams wants the team to get back to basics at the back, starting at home to Colchester.

With influential playmaker Kevin McDonald having been sold to rivals Wolves for an undisclosed fee earlier this week, Callum McFadzean and Ryan Flynn are pushing for starts in midfield. Right-back Tony McMahon could make his first appearance this season, having shaken off an ankle problem.

Colchester, managed by Joe Dunne, travel to South Yorkshire bidding to defend a 100 per cent record in the third tier of English football after victories over league newcomers Gillingham and Port Vale.
