Mark Warburton has joined Phil Parkinson as joint favourite with the bookies after a turbulent opening day of betting on who will replace Nigel Clough as Sheffield United manager.
Warburton – who is set to depart Brentford this summer – has been backed in from 20/1 to 7/4 joint favourite.
Bradford City boss Phil Parkinson has drifted out. Last night he was backed in to 1/7 favourite but is now 7/4.
Nigel Adkins – who guided Scunthorpe United out of the third tier and Southampton into the Premier League – has consistently been attached to one of the lowest prices since the market opened on Monday morning. The former Reading boss is currently 5/2.
Clough was barely out of the door at Bramall Lane before the market opened on who would be his successor.
