Sheffield United boss Nigel Adkins reflected on a host of missed opportunities as the Blades drew 1-1 with Oldham at Boundary Park.

Adkins' side went 1-0 down through Danny Philliskirk's opener but Matt Done got United back in the game.

With the home side going down to ten men when Johnathan Hunt was sent off after picking up his second yellow card, United looked like being the team to take all three points.

However Billy Sharp, Stefan Scougall and Che Adams all went close but failed to find the net.

Adkins said: "In the second half we had more than enough chances, didn't we?

"I thought we were going to go on and win it. Obviously their player's got sent off and to me the game was opening up nicely, spaces were created for us to get through. Maybe they sat a bit deeper, but we had chances

"You look at the one that Billy's (Sharp) got to score, across the face of (the goal); Scougs hits the post, for example. You've got to score them, you've got to win the game."
