Obviously, we were unable to do that quite so formally this year but although the season hasn’t yet finished, our football writers have come together to pick out the top formers from their respective clubs.

Football Editor Chris Holt, Sheffield United writers James Shield and Danny Hall, Sheffield Wednesday writer Alex Miller, our Doncaster Rovers man Liam Hoden and Chesterfield writer Liam Norcliffe were joined by the Yorkshire Post’s Leon Wobschall – chosing Barnsley and Rotherham United’s – to pick out the season’s best peformers.

As is tradition at the ceremony, the team also made their choices for Manager of the Year, Team of the Year and Young Player of the Year – with some categories causing more debate than others.
