Almost 28,000 fans packed into Bramall Lane for Sheffield United’s clash with play-off chasing Hull City on Saturday -and the majority were sent home happy as the Blades came from behind to end their six-game winless run. Things looked ominous for the Blades when their former striker Oli McBurnie put the visitors ahead in just the fifth minute.
But United showed their mettle to stay in the game and took advantage of a moment of madness from another ex-Blade in John Lundstram, who was sent off 15 minutes from time and opened the door for the hosts.
They duly walked through it, with Gus Hamer equalising from the spot with five minutes to go before super-sub Danny Ings netted the winner with his first involvement three minutes later after coming off the bench.
Boss Chris Wilder was delighted to give Unitedites something to cheer about after a run of three defeats and three draws from their last six that he admitted was “not good enough.” The Blades will be backed again in numbers at Watford this weekend as an underwhelming season draws to a welcome close.
As ever our photographers were on hand to capture some great snaps of Blades fans cheering on their side - see if you can spot anyone you know in our latest fan gallery, or maybe even yourself...
