Sheffield United fans were rewarded for their support of the Blades over two of the longest away trips of the season within the space of a few days, as their side won 1-0 at Bristol City on Saturday. United had been cruelly beaten at Portsmouth just a few days earlier.
But Oliver Arblaster’s fifth-minute goal, and a solid defensive effort, saw them bounce back with three big points. Around 500 Blades supporters made the long midweek trip to Fratton Park, while approximately 1,500 travelled to Ashton Gate.
“They’ve supported us and they’ve backed us,” boss Chris Wilder said of the Unitedites. “They did so on Wednesday night. They were there until the end.
“They could see our anger and frustration, and we could see their support. It’s been talked about over the last 48 hours at the hotel, among the staff and among the players.
“It’s incredibly difficult at the moment, with the cost of living, to do those trips. So the win was a reward and hopefully they enjoyed their trip back too.”
As ever our photographers were on hand to capture some great images of Blades fans cheering on their side - see if you can spot anyone you recognise in our latest fan gallery...
