The Norwegian international is currently recovering at Shirecliffe after having surgery on a hamstring injury he suffered in the home game against the Red Devils.

United pulled off their most impressive result in some years by beating Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's title-chasing side on their own patch, with a raft of first teamers - including Berge - missing.

"It looks like the smile of Joker from his movies," said Berge as he showed off his surgery scar to United's in-house media team.

"It looks better than it is, I guess on the camera it doesn't look great but I'm getting more and more comfortable with it. What's more important is what's happening on the inside, I don't care how it looks on the outside.

"Time flies, it's been more than five weeks now. I'm having a good time working out with these guys, it's easy to put in the work."

The Blades return to Manchester this week to face another title-chasing side in City and when asked about his comeback, Berge - who became United's record signing last January when he signed in a £22m move from Genk - added: "Soon. After a game like yesterday, beating Man United at Old Trafford, you just want to go back out there and play.

"It's fired me up. I just want to get back in there for the Man City game! Probably a bit early, but I'm getting there."
