Sheffield United travel to Carrow Road on Sunday to face the side that was automatically promoted from The Championship alongside the Blades last season. The two sides have enjoyed differing levels of success upon promotion to the Premier League.

Sheffield United fared well against eventual champions Norwich City last season, winning 2-1 at Bramall Lane and drawing 2-2 at Carrow Road in the run-in.

The Blades have so far been better suited to Premier League life than the Canaries – Chris Wilder’s team sit in the top half, while Norwich City currently languish in the relegation zone in 19th place.

If United avoid defeat against Norwich they will pass the halfway mark on the road towards the magic 40 point mark that tends to guarantee Premier League survival.

The Blades will have been disappointed to lose to Newcastle United on Thursday evening amid more VAR controversy for Jonjo Shelvey’s goal, and the team will look to put the game behind them with a solid performance in East Anglia.

Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas is backing Sheffield United to cause problems on the counter-attack, and is predicting a positive result for the Blades.

Speaking in his weekly predictions column, he said: “Sheffield United are unbeaten on the road. Norwich have picked themselves up and they score goals, but Sheffield United will defend well and could have some joy on the counter.

“That could get them over the line at Carrow Road.
