Neil Warnock managed Sheffield United the last time they featured in the Premier League, and after leaving Cardiff City recently he could be granted a shock return to the game.

The Sun have linked Warnock with a move to Middlesbrough, with boss Jonathan Woodgate under pressure after a 4-0 hammering by Leeds United on Saturday.

The report suggests that Warnock has been lined up as a replacement, with Woodgate on the brink of the sack.

Warnock has managed a host of clubs across his career, including taking charge of multiple teams in Yorkshire alone such as the Blades, Leeds United, Rotherham United and Huddersfield Town.

Should they appoint Warnock, Boro will hope that he can help them avoid a drop down to the third tier.
