Sheffield United's Rhys Norrington-Davies reveals where he can improve during Stoke City loan spell

The Welsh international was in fine form before a red-card at Huddersfield in January, and a subsequent three-match ban, derailed his season somewhat.

He scored his first goal of the season at the weekend in Stoke's 2-0 victory over Wycombe, and spoke afterwards about the need to channel his on-field aggression - without losing the edge that makes him such an effective operator down the left flank.

“I need to control myself a little bit more,” he admitted.

“When we played Brentford away, I picked up a yellow in the first half and the gaffer didn’t think he could risk putting me out in the second.

“It’s something I obviously need to be more conscious of going forward but I like to think of myself as a player who is always on the front foot, is aggressive and likes to get stuck in. That’s part of me.

“It won’t change because that’s the player I am but I need to be able to control it more.”

Asked if Norrington-Davies could return to Stoke next season, their boss Michael O'Neill said: "There’s a lot of water to go under the bridge before we even think about that."
